ABOUT ME

My career has always sat at the intersection of people, performance and experience.

I started in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and customer service trainer, working with individuals and teams to raise standards and deliver measurable results. Early on I developed a deep interest in behavioural performance — how people think, communicate and influence outcomes.

From there I moved into hotel sales performance coaching, helping teams improve conversion, confidence and commercial effectiveness. That work sharpened my understanding of what actually drives revenue in customer-facing environments.

I later built and ran a successful IT training and service business, helping organisations improve systems, software processes and productivity from the inside out.

Academically, I hold a Diploma in Public Relations and Business Management, a BSc (Hons) in Product Design, and a Master's degree in Digital Advertising Campaign Design. My Master's thesis focused on Teamology — the study of effective communication and performance in teamwork. I also hold a Diploma in Coaching Teams and Individuals.

This combination of design thinking, behavioural insight and commercial experience is what I bring to every engagement.

"Matt never settles for 'just so.' He spots what others miss, stays ahead of the curve and consistently delivers results that matter to clients." Nick Zea-Smith, Senior Marketing & Communications Leader

What this means in practice

I bring together design thinking from product development, behavioural insight from coaching and team performance, commercial acumen from sales and service environments, strategic communication from advertising and brand development, and digital productivity know-how to streamline systems and elevate team performance.

Not as separate disciplines — but as one joined-up approach to finding and fixing what's quietly costing you.
